Implantation

Biomaterials as implants target several applications

A biomaterial can be implanted into the human body for a number of applications.

  • Regenerative medicine: biomaterials are used as stand-alone implants as well as scaffolds for cells or inorganic substances that would otherwise uncontrollably spread out inside the body
  • Drug delivery: biomaterials form vehicles that enclose a drug compound for targeted delivery inside the body.
  • Cosmetic surgeries: biomaterials can aid cosmetic surgery and related applications.

Spiber develops material for Regenerative Medicine

Our primary target is to develop supportive material for regenerative medicine applications. The biomaterial could either be used alone or in combination with other materials, cells, inorganic substances, and/or chemical compounds.
